Tanya McDonald, Executive Director Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x100 Tanya started with Dallas AfterSchool Network at its inception, serving first as an integral volunteer then as Board Vice-Chair. In 2009 Tanya became Executive Director. Prior to DASN, Tanya had a 14 year career in the financial services industry, working for such companies as Fidelity Investments and J.P.Morgan Private Bank. Tanya's experience spans sales, marketing and strategic planning. Tanya holds a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University and has a Certificate of Nonprofit Management. Now empty-nesters, she and her husband dote on their Labrador Retrievers. ![]() |
Terri Barnes, Director of Program Quality Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x101 Terri oversees all of DASN's Program Quality Initiatives to help local afterschool providers achieve national quality standards. Terri joined Dallas AfterSchool Network at its inception as a volunteer trainer. She has more than 23 years experience in the education, curriculum, and staff development field. She holds a B. Ed. from University of North Texas with a literacy and early childhood focus and a MS from Capella University with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to two "home-made" children, Terri has fostered 7 youth, all of whom are now grown. ![]() |
LaTasha Hill, VISTA Leader Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 LaTasha oversees the AmeriCorps*VISTA program, pairing and managing VISTAs to member agencies. She completed her VISTA year of service this Summer at an afterschool program in Miami, FL. LaTasha is originally from the coast of North Carolina and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She enjoys nature activities and watching action movies. ![]() |
Erika Johnson, Volunteer Coordinator Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 Erika recruits and sustains DASN volunteers, helping them to foster an environment conducive to the academic maturation of students in our after school programs. Originally from Dallas, Erika was an educator at DISD, spent 6 years of her youth in the more underdeveloped communities of West Dallas. Because of her upbringing, she is passionate about providing constructive opportunities for others to get involved in their communities. In 2008, she graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. It was in Houston where she discovered her passion to serve, co-creating an award-winning, service-oriented program dedicated to providing more than 6,000 pounds of food to the Houston Food Bank each year! The program still lives, as it is carried out each year by students at the unviersity. GO COOGS! Erika is proof that quality after school programs work! ![]() |
Lauren Jones, Quality Advisor Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x105 Lauren works directly with afterschool staff inside their programs to deliver professional coaching and resources. Lauren has worked in the non-profit sector since 2004, serving previously at YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and Big Thought. With Lauren’s wide range of experience in afterschool programming, she brings a wealth of knowledge about program quality and operations to her role as a Quality Advisor. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in History from Jarvis Christian College. Originally from San Antonio, Lauren has converted to a rabid Dallas Mavericks fan! ![]() |
Alli Lidie, Quality Advisor Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x103 Alli works in the field with afterschool staff, helping them to improve the programs they deliver to students. She provides program observations, staff coaching and resource to help her clients reach national quality standards. Alli has worked with youth and teens since 2005, having most recently served as a Recreation Specialist for a teen center in McLean, VA. Alli is originally from Virginia and holds a Bachelor Arts in Drama with a minor in Economics from the University of Virginia. Alli has served as a Big Sister and is a voracious reader. ![]() |
Stephanie Williams, Program Coordinator Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x104 Stephanie helps to coordinate events, program trainings and track effective use of curriculum and resources in DASN afterschool sites. A native Dallasite, Stephanie was the first female to play a skating position in varsity high school ice hockey in Texas...a passion she developed during afterschool as a youth! Stephanie graduated from Bowdoin College in 2010 with a B.A. in Government and Legal Studies. She is a Texas certified classroom teacher, and is fluent in Spanish. She volunteers her time as a coach for Alliance girls’ hockey, supporting the growth of women’s hockey in North Texas. ![]() |
Nikki Young, Director of Member Services Contact Form Office Phone: 214-306-8400 x102 Nikki oversees DASN's relationships with afterschool providers and the program resources we provide to them. Nikki has been involved with DASN since its founding in 2007, having worked at Big Thought, one of DASN's member agencies. She has over 12 years of experience in training and instruction, and holds two degrees from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Multilingual and Multicultural Education and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Nikki has a passion for modern dance and has performed internationally with the Isadora Duncan Dance Ensemble and locally with Beckles Dance Company. ![]() |
