Lights On Afterschool

Lights On Afterschool is celebrated nationwide to call attention to the importance of afterschool programs for America's children, families and communities.

Launched in October 2000, this year more than 7,500 events are planned across the nation. Join the millions of Americans celebrating Lights On Afterschool on our DASN bus tours.

Dallas AfterSchool Network will host our 2nd year of bus tours in celebration of Lights on Afterschool. Join us and tour quality afterschool programs in your community. Learn about the difference a quality afterschool program can make in the children, families and neighborhoods they serve in one of these tours:

1. Richardson
Programs visited:
Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas
Neighborhood Service Council
Richardson ISD 21st Century PACE
Meet at: RISD High School, 1250 Belt Line Rd, Richardson.

2. Pleasant Grove
Programs visited:
Camp Fire USA Lone Star Council
Thriving Minds at Comstock Middle School
Wilkinson Center at Umphress Road Church
Meet at: Umphress Road Church, 7224 Umphress Rd, Dallas.

3. West Dallas
Programs visited:
Junior Players at Anita Martinez Recreation Center
Trinity River Mission
West Dallas Community Centers, Inc.
Meet at: 2060 Singleton Blvd, Dallas.

Please meet at the designated meeting spot at 3:45 to register and board the bus.  Buses will depart promptly at 4PM.  An optional reception will take place at the designated meeting spot at 5:30PM.
