How Out-of-School Time Program Quality is Related to Adolescent Outcomes
ChildTrends presents this compelling report about the correlation between student outcomes and afterschool program quality.  The research indicates that only high quality programs create outcomes for students.  Students who attended low quality programs showed virtually no change in school performance, social competence or risky behaviors than students who did not attend a program at all.

This research estimates that Dallas County needs an additional 85,000 afterschool slots to meet the demand in our community. Further, the author concludes that Dallas afterschool providers would be well-served by the creation of a professional network such as Dallas AfterSchool Network.
