Afterschool Achievers - Spotlighting Student Success

On May 11, more than 500 guests attended Dallas AfterSchool Network's inaugural Afterschool Achievers awards ceremony at the Lakewood Theater. Hosted by Rob McCollum, WFAA-TV, 20 Dallas AfterSchool Network member programs recognized 40 students for their academic, athletic, artistic or leadership accomplishments. Students from the YMCA, Big Thought, Dallas Community Lighthouse, Richardson ISD PACE and St. Anthony Community Center entertained with songs, dances and other performances. In addition, WFAA, JCPenney and Dallas Social Venture Partners were recognized as outstanding community partners for their contributions to the local afterschool field.
